A native of Iowa, De'Andra studied Cosmetology at La'James International College and graduated in May 2011. Afterward, she continued her education and attended Iowa Central Community College where she earned an associates degree in Health & Beauty Management.
Throughout her career De'Andra has participated in several competitions, also traveling to New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Hartford, San Antonio and Los Angeles for further education. Her portfolio includes certifications in Reflexology, Satin Smooth Advance Waxing Techniques, Rusk Thermal Hair Straightening, Keratin Complex PBO, NovaLash Classic Lash Extensions.
Her creativity and passion for helping others, coupled with her love for the beauty industry is what sparked her interest in becoming a licensed barber. In 2017 she obtained her cross-over license at Saint Charles Barber College where she strengthened her skills and knowledge in men's grooming and precision clipper cutting.
De'Andra opened Royal Kutz Salon Barber & Spa with her husband J.R. in 2017. Royal Kutz was created to offer other beauty professionals a place where there are no limitations to their individual creativity, also providing professional and personal support. The Royal Kutz Team are empowered to achieve their full potential and differences are celebrated.
De'Andra has always had a passion for serving others and loves to give back to the community. Since opening in 2017 she and her team have volunteered at local Youth In Need shelters providing haircuts for the youth and staff. Because of their service they have been invited to several galas and dinners in recognition or their contribution to the organization.
An award winning barber, De'Andra has received numerous awards and recognition over the years. In 2019 she placed first in the Gents Fashion Week Barber Battle. She was one of 10 barbers selected to attend the Johnny B Haircare Barber Academy earning her credentials as an educator the company. She received an unique opportunity to barber for Johnny B Pop Up Shop at Brea Mall in Los Angeles, California.
De'Andra has been in the industry for 9 years. Her artistic talents include all aspects of beauty, hair and skincare, but she specializes in men's grooming and short hairstyles, natural ethnic & curly haircare, one-of-a-kind color applications, lashing, waxing and specialized facials. She is always looking to learn something new and expand her knowledge in the ever growing beauty industry.
